Do yr 7s scoot to school?

Just that, really.
My ds wants to ride his bike, but it's far too small, we can't afford a new one and his road awareness isn't yet good enough.
I was thinking that he could scoot instead, but I don't want him to be unusual if others don't.

Practice the journey with the bigger bike.

Yes children scoot to school here for secondary. Some of the routes nearby are dual carriageways and 40mph A roads so are far more risky for bike riders on the roads than scooter riders on pavements. There are stunt scooters that are for taller and heavier children/teens and also full 16 inch tyre ones.

No, and the few pavements to ours are rammed with students walking. I think a scooter would end up stuck behind groups of walkers anyway.

Unfortunately he has no friends to walk with.

But he'll soon get to know other pupils who walk the same route he does, won't he. He's less likely to get to know people if he's on wheels.

How far is it?
