Essentials for boarding

My DC is starting full boarding in yr 9 shortly - any top tips on things to take? I think I have all the normal stuff covered due to comprehensive list from school but just advice on extras.

Many thanks in advance.

Interested too. We are in the same position, DS leaves for boarding next week, we have packed but I still keep feeling there is something we are missing.

The joy of Amazon Prime. Ours just get what they need sent directly to the boarding house. They text to ask me and then just order it. It's odd things that you might not think they need. Please don't worry - I'm sure you have the important things covered.
Although shoe cleaning kit - we forget to pack that every time. Good luck for this exciting next chapter.

This. We are also heavy users of Prime deliveries. One of my dc likes to have extra blankets on her bed, so she can feel snuggly without actually getting into bed. She also likes fluffy socks. She also has a Just Eat habit at weekends, us mums seem to take it in turns to order food for the group. So set up apps like that that they might need, the local taxi firm too if they have one.

@VariationsonaTheme that's a great idea regarding taxi numbers. I'm going to set up an Uber account tonight on their phones for any emergencies that is linked to my card. Like the food app too. Thanks for the info.

Thank you! Have been watching videos suggesting things like mattress toppers but felt that could wait.

Good luck to everyone off to board

@eyeoresancerre
Some schools have preferred taxi firms they consider reliable and safe. I would not use random ones. Have you looked at the schools policy on transport?

My girls liked cube photo frames with family and dog in the photos. A personal blanket was always taken and clothes for mufti days which were a bit different! Yes, Amazon is your friend for extras.
