Moving into Middle School for Yr 7

Does anyone know how you apply to join a Middle school for Year 7? Ds is in a Primary so goes up to Year 6 but i'm thinking about applying for Middle then High School rather than the Secondary. I know they do get some starting in Year 7 at the Middle but the only details about applying for a place relate to either applying for the normal point of entry Year 5 or Mid Year transfer which it's not really.

I don't have any certain info, but you might find it's a case of confusing wording. Where we are, all admissions other than the main Reception/Year 7 intakes are called 'in year' admissions, even if they're at the start of a school year - I think that's normal. So it might just be that your 'mid year transfer' means any admission that's not at the original main entry point?

That's correct - have a look at the individual school's admissions policy for its mid-year entry procedure.
