Catchment Area for Tivoli

Hi everyone,

Just moved into Tivoli in Cheltenham. Love the area, love the house. We have a little one year old and plenty of good primary schools nearby. I am a little concerned with the secondary school. I know it's a long way away however better start thinking about this stuff sooner than later...

We are in the catchment area for Bourneside however the stats suggest the school isn't doing very well. There's a new school in Leckhampton that looks promising. We're 1.2Km away from it. We're outside the catchment area for it now. Will we stand a chance to send our little one there one day?

I know this is an old thread but I moved to tivoli last august too :) Also love the area and have the same thoughts about secondaries. I’ve checked high school leckhamptons intake and this year they accepted kids from 1.28 miles away, and the school will only grow for intakes each year. Only issue is tivoli lies outside the catchment priority area so obviously hard to predict year on year if there’s a guaranteed place available.

Balcarras is the best secondary but catchment is tiny. I’ve had friends move into rented there for a year or so before just to get kids in.

Theres also the grammar option if you’re thinking more academic as the Gloucester grammars and pate’s don’t have a catchment area.

So essentially I’m saying there are certainly lots of options and in 10 years time bourneside might have turned itself around. It used to have a good reputation.
