Is your Yr 7 currently camping at Kingsdown, Kent?

Some school had turned up with 4 coach loads of kids. They have brought the whole of Yr 7 camping. In tents!

If one of them is yours, they are having a great time. They are wildly excited but the lovely teachers have excellent systems for managing them. They have a teacher at each end of the path between their encampment and the toilet block making sure they don’t stray. The teachers have loud hailers.

They have lovely 4 or 6 person tents and a huge marquee. When the staff ask them to gather in silence..they do!

Much action with torches now dark is falling, they are skipping and dancing about. Excited but very well behaved.

I usually value my peace and quiet when camping but this site started as a Scout Camp and it is lovely to see it being used by young people.

plus I am 2 or 300 metres away.

They are bringing 2 more year groups over the next week or so.

Teachers are SAINTS to do this.

Oh those kids are so lucky!

Say all of this to their teachers, it will sustain them through this travail 😂

When I left they were involved in group activities. Some groups must have left site, others were playing games, having a Stomp Rocket tournament, all very happy.

Surely one of them must have had a MNer as a parent 🙂
