Having problems getting proof of pupil premium for grammar priority

If my son passes their test the grammar schools local to me give priority to children who are on pupil premium. It could make a difference and I won't know if he has passed the test until 10 days before the applications have to be in. Its slightly complicated for me to evidence this because we moved from another area and although I have an old free school meals letter its just from previous school and probably won't be accepted here. I have spoken to the most senior admin person at his primary but she is not keen on providing evidence, she even sounds a bit doubtful that he is receiving pupil premium although she says the computer says he is. I feel that as this is thousands of pounds which the school claim they must know whether he is in receipt of it or not and its not unreasonable to ask them to evidence it for me? I don't really want to rock the boat over this its really awkward.

When did you move to the new primary? If it was within the last few weeks (since easter) then the new school may not have actually received any pp yet. I think PP only transfers at the beginning of each of the 3 terms possibly? In which case they will be avle to provide proof after September, in time for the applications.

Usually proof that a child attends a particular primary school or proof that a child is eligible for pupil premium would be signed by the school head teacher.

When DS applied to sit the eleven plus, the secondary sent a form to us. His current primary had to sign and stamp to say that he was a pupil and there was a box to tick if a child was eligible or had been eligible for pupil premium.

The secondary school would also be able to run a check using your national insurance number.

Thanks I appreciate it. One of the secondary schools got back to me today and said they have accepted the evidence I already sent, so that is good.

PP is paid if your DC has been in receipt of FSM in the last few years. Sorry I can't remember how many. So evidence of them claiming FSM in eg the last 2 years would be proof of the PP.
