Solihull Secondary Schools

Hi,
what in your opinion is the best secondary school in Solihull?
I am willing to move to get into the right school - it appears to be Tudor Grange, would you agree?
I thought I would chose Arden but I visited and found the school dirty and very old, felt like it was going to fall down, the pupils were charming though. I have heard rumours that ofsted visited this week and concerns were found, not outstanding anymore so I want to chose the right school and have 6 months to move before applying

Tudor Grange is very well-regarded and consistently outperformed Arden in terms of student progress in recent years (NB no data for 2020 or 2021). You will need to be in catchment. There is a perfect storm of various factors meaning that there are more children applying for places in the current Y6 and Y5 and fewer students are getting in from out of catchment.

I would take Ofsted rumours with a pinch of salt until the report is published. Anyone who is well-placed to know the likely outcome will be keeping their mouth shut.

I’ve said before on Mumsnet to look carefully at the catchment for Tudor Grange. It is really strange with, for historical reasons, some DC much further away in areas of Solihull bordering on Worcestershire having preference over those nearer to the school. Not many people seem to realise this and are surprised when they find out.

Arden. There’s no question about it. It’s not just the education it’s who your kids mix with too.
