Glenthorne High School (Sutton) - opinions please?

My DS has received an offer to attend Glenthorne for their Sep 2022 entry via their banding test as we are out of catchment. However we have not had a chance to see the school. During Covid they did not have run any open days and when they did run a few open evenings, those booked out faster than a blink and we missed out. We have asked the new Head if we could make a short visit and received a blanket 'no tours' answer. It's very tricky to try and decide your child's potential next 6-7 years of their life without seeing the school. The video clips on their site are old and were under the direction of the previous Head who left in 2021. Can anyone offer any insights or opinions? These would be much appreciated.

Take it, it is a really good school. Unless your other options are grammars and even then tbh I would think about it.

DD has friends there via banding and it is a very good school. It is strict and has a lot of homework (more than DD who is at a grammar) but all her friends there really like it

Hi can you tell me if your child went to Glenthorne? If so how is it or elsewhere and how it is please?

we are relatively new to the area and so all options are helpful.

@Kattiekat yes I have personal experience of it and its very good. If you live in Sutton then there are schools for all sorts of children and the comps are all different so choose which one is right for your child.
