Choosing boarding School for Swimmer

Hello, we are new in this chat. I see a lot of people asking the same question from old threads, so I'm starting the topic again to get more updated opinions. We are moving to Devon because our 14 year old is a swimmer. We have interviewed with Plymouth and Mount Kelly and both have their strengths and weaknesses. We were very impressed by Mount Kelly's reception (and by the school itself) and although Plymouth was very welcoming, they seemed more "relaxed".

While in Mt Kelly they seemed very eager to get to know my son (we interviewed with several staff members, including the headmaster), in Plymouth they didn't seem as thorough, almost like they knew us already and we were coming to a familiar place. In terms of the two swimming programmes, we think they're both very good and quite similar.

Our doubt is, we're not sure whether this more "informal" attitude we perceived from Plymouth is a strength or a weakness, ie. how does this translate in the day to day caring and education of the children. I'd love to have some feedback from parents in both schools (secondary school). Thank you very much.
