I'd sooner see everyone's child getting a good quality education geared to their natural abilities and aptitudes too edam.
And our borough's place at the bottom of the league tables for London enrages and worries me because it is not necessary and I can't see how this happened. It's a borough that has its share of socioeconomic problems but it also has a lot of socially stable suburbs and one really posh conservation area. Its schools are now performing worse than some boroughs with really major problems - how come they can turn the situation around and ours can't? The best non-faith school notched up 54%.
Secondary school provision there has been mediocre declining into truly shite over the past thirty years.

The school DD1 will be joining next year was considerable below average in the five GCSE including English and Maths score. But it had a MARVELLOUS value added score which it will no doubt be trumpeting to the roof tops to obscure that fact that nearly two-thirds of its pupils leave without the basic requirements of a decent education.

marina, schools in your borough have been shite for as long as I and my older brother/sister can remember

it's nothing short of scandalous
