Hello!

We are considering moving to Suffolk/Norfolk when our eldest son starts secondary school and I am just trying to get an idea of the schools in the area. Diss High School, what is it like?

My son is very academically capable, he particularly likes practical subjects, DT, Computing and Art. He doesn't like a lot of noise though or too many people so we are trying to find the right fit for him.

Any opinions about the school much appreciated.

Many Thanks : )

@Elyac , I spotted your post here and in Education. I don't live in Suffolk but know the area well. It would be interesting to know where you are currently based and what is motivating your move.
I know people with dc at Diss High which seems good. The other options include Wymondham College although a small catchment for day places and the private schools like Woodbridge or if you live near Diss the train option to the Norwich private schools. I would cast your net wide to find a school that you feel would be a suitable transition for your dc.

Diss High is good (have 2 children there) however if you are thinking of moving to Norfolk/Suffolk border then Hartismere High in Eye (about 5 mins down the A140) is amazing. It has a much smaller catchment though and you need to be in the Suffolk side of the border to get in I believe. Feel free to PM if I can help.
