What are some good North London community comprehensives?

My family and I live in Islington. My child's current school is rated "Outstanding", but neither of the locally maintained secondary schools are. We are trying to move to an area with a better school, and I would like to hear some perspectives.

At first I thought Fortismere would be a good choice. I liked the progressive pedagogy but disliked the no-uniform policy, and I saw that it has great test results. However according to this website (snobe.co.uk/schools/fortismere-school) it's not very good. I'm unsure why it has the low rating.

My son is very academic and doesn't care much for sport, so a school with an athletic focus wouldnt suit him. We also think he'd benefit from a liberal pedagogy. He's primarily interested in history and government, as well as art and literature. We also would like a mixed gender school.

Also: Schools with strong GSCE and A-Levels marks, and extracurricular opportunities (Model UN, chess, etc.)
