Private school Hertfordshire - non academic

Posting on behalf of a friend whose wants to send her son to an independent secondary, but he isn't particularly academic. He adores Science and sport (doesn't play any team sports though!) and is potentially SEN but currently undergoing a private assessment for autism / adhd.
My question is does a private school exist where he wouldn't have to sit an academic entrance exam? As in a non selective private school that offers a good all round education, pastoral team and focusses on wellbeing.

Pretty much all independent schools will require some sort of assessment BUT there are several schools that will consider and, more importantly, be supportive of SEN

  • Sherrardswood
  • St Christopher’s, Letchworth
  • St Columba’s (although going coed so may change)
  • Aldenham to a certain extent

Spreading wings a bit further:

  • Stowe
  • Shiplake
  • Bloxham

If he might need a little more help then Egerton Rothesay worth a look.

Greenacre school is in Bedford if you're prepared to travel.
