Hi,

My DD has just been offered a place at RAA. It was our first choice but we got a place at St Bedes, then got this place from the waiting list. We both work full time and the wrap around care, flexi boarding and the surroundings of RAA all sound fantastic. However, the recent Ofsted is a bit concerning and it seems like the head left suddenly last year (2 interim heads since).

I wondered if anyone has recent experience or insight of RAA they can share to help in making our decision. It's v difficult to know what to do!

Thanks Smile

Hi-I have two friends who work there
Who rave about it and the facilities. Quite unique in its set up and some new SLT staff who are quite inspiring I think. They choose to sent their kids there and the after school stuff is meant to be great

Hope that
Helps.

Have you visited - I really wasn't impressed. The children we spoke to were boarders and got the impression they were unhappy and although we are quite chilled out people, they came across very rude. We went with St Bedes - from our personal experience, academics, standard of staff, discipline and pastoral care are excellent. They let your child grow as an individual and as part of a community. Online learning during lockdowns was comprehensive and face to face with their existing teachers. If you want to go private - I would choose Dunnotar over RAA. They sometimes have after allocation places.
