Does anyone know if the Olympiad invitations are off the first or second papers?

The first papers lead to the second stage which is either Olympiad or Kangaroos

I think the first paper sends you to Olympiad or kangaroo and the kangaroo would not send you to the Olympiad.

OK so being invited to do the second paper means you haven't got through to the Kangaroo or Olympiad? What's the point of the second paper then?

They talk about follow on rounds on this page. It's exactly as @jytdtysrht describes

The second paper is the Kangaroo (1 hour) or the Olympiad (2 hours).

I hadn't grasped that the Olympiad was the longer paper I thought it was a separate thing.

Ah thank you. I’ve now understood what DD did yesterday (the only Y9 girl kangaroo which I thought was quite cool).
