School Uniform practicalities

Eldest son in Y6 about to go up to Secondary school. Know now which school he is going to so looking at school uniform.

The practicalities - how many pairs of trousers? How many shirts? How many jumpers?

I used to hate the shirts and trousers I got bought for me. Hated the feel, the fit, the style. The uniform supplier does also do school shirts and trousers and I might default to them for Y7.

Not been a problem at Junior School as little kids tend not to care (and dont sweat!) but realise this is all about to change

There was a thread on this the other day with lots of useful advice: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4497701-how-many-of-each-secondary-school-uniform-item-did-you-buy

We have five shirts, two trousers, two jumpers, one blazer. All M&S except the blazer which is John Lewis. They don't get 'dirty' nearly as much at secondary, but definitely start to sweat more, so shirts are changed each day. I find it much easier to have enough clean shirts for the whole week and then do a whites wash at the weekend.
