Adequate reasons for secondary school appeal

I am hoping for some help please

We didn’t get our first choice of secondary school and will appeal this decision.

I know that a few people have had some success in appealing. Can you please share what reasons would be considered good enough ?
Also I have read about net amount of children in the school for each year group and if extra children were allowed in. How do I find this information?
I know the school will say they are full and can’t take another child in but how do I argue this ?
I feel lost and would really appreciate any help
Thank you

You need to demonstrate that your child not having a place outweighs the detriment to the school of them having to find space for your child.
What can you objectively show your child will suffer if they don't go there? And can you back that up with real evidence?

Agree with the previous poster. Re finding out the numbers in each year group, the admission authority is required to answer any reasonable question you ask to help you prepare for your appeal.

Did the school correctly apply their published admissions criteria?
