Camden School for Girls Waiting Lists

We are in single figures on waiting list for band b but of course that’s for 30 places! Does anyone know how much movement there usually is and hopefully in the right direction! Thanks

Honestly, it depends! Do you know the last distance offered and how far away from it you are.

I know someone who got in during the summer holidays from the late 20s from a band b a few years ago though.

Band A (coloured orange) - in 2022 this was 0.81 miles

Band B (coloured blue) - in 2022 this was 0.80 miles

Band C (coloured green) - in 2022 this was 0.54 miles

Band D (coloured purple) - in 2022 this was 0.36 miles

Mastermixy · 02/03/2022 16:21

We are 0.97 miles

Look at that band D! I find it so annoying that band D is so small, and getting smaller. All those local girls that can’t go to their nearest school while those from nearly a mile away get in. I’m not blaming anyone, well not parents, but I am saying it seems so unfair.

I would expect most movement for band A when the fees for independents have to be paid. Maybe that will be the same for band B.

I’d assume you might be in with a chance but I’d not bank on it. Decide at what point you’d switch. After taster sessions, during the first week of term, later. Have you a school you’re happy with?

itsnotdeep · 02/03/2022 16:42

I do know people who've got a place a day or 2 before school begins.

But otherwise you will get one in y7/8, although by then your dd will have settled in her school and you might not want to move her.

ExiledinIslington · 02/03/2022 17:00

My DD was Band B last year and moved 5 or 6 places on the waiting list from a couple of weeks after offer day to just before the summer holidays so it does move but not much.
CSG was her 2nd choice. She started at her 3rd choice school then got an offer at her 1st choice in September.

Mastermixy · 02/03/2022 18:41

I’m assuming parliament hill moves faster- what sort of number is realistic for that? We also have that on our list. The school we got is fine academically but very strict and not very suited to our DD who is used to a no uniform type school

Parli was our 1st choice. DD was 71st a couple of weeks after offer day then had a place offered in September. Do you know your current waiting list place for Parli?

Mastermixy · 03/03/2022 15:51

Parli was 1.02 miles and we are 58

@ExiledinIslington what made you choose parli over Camden? We never got to visit Camden because of covid despite all other schools letting us

Parli was a better fit for DD and had a lot of positive feedback from other parents we knew.
I didn't really warm to the school when we visited but DD and DP did so was quite glad DD wasn't Band A as she'd have got a place at CSG on offer day last year!

Camdenish · 03/03/2022 20:53

How’s it going at Parli *ExiledinIslington”?

ExiledinIslington · 03/03/2022 21:51

Good thanks. DD is happy and settled in really well despite joining after the start of the year.

Camdenish · 05/03/2022 10:35

I’m so pleased it worked out for her.

SameBoat2022 · 04/11/2022 11:06

Oh Gosh we are Band A but not in the catchment and have never seen the school... mine just wants to go with her friends and almost none is considering state, which I vastly prefer. Hard.
