Hampton pre-prep

Any thoughts on Hampton pre-prep?

Anyone knows realistically how many kids really go all the way to Hampton school from Hampton Pre-prep? DS is currently studying happily there, I like their way of teaching, however DH is thinking if we should move him to another school for shorter commute. Current driving time is an hour return due to traffic, sometimes slightly more.. and we are working parents at some point would need to go back to the office in Central London twice a week..

We are thinking if we should move him to another local pre-prep which is much closer, more traditional and academic focus.

DS is not a quiet boy but not sporty. Easily distracted, full of curiously, talkative.

@Preprepboymum123
Where do you live (or what is alternative prep) and how old is your ds?
You are best placed to answer the assured place question - ask the admissions lady.
Hampton boys takes 50% from state sector at 11.

The assured places are 20 currently as I understand and we were told that not many (if any) more than this go to Hampton. Not sure if this reflects others taking the exam and not getting a place or choosing not to sit the exam…..

…sorry should have said 20 places for approx 36 boys. An hour is quite a long time if you’ve got good schools closer. I guess it’s also if you definitely want to avoid the 11 plus then Hampton prep isn’t the way to go.

I know a boy whose parents teach at Hampton prep and he did not meet entry for Hampton, went elsewhere. There is no automatic place
