Sunbury school / SEN Secondary

Hello, I am trying to decide the best school for my SEN child next year. I have looked at both St Pauls and Bishop Wand in Sunbury. Does anyone have an opinion as to which is the better school? I have visited both and online/ofsted the suggestion is St Pauls is the better school, however I got a really nice vibe at The Bishop Wand School. Anyone have first hand experience on either and can give some feedback? Thank you

Are you catholic? I believe St. Paul's gives priority to those who are practising catholics. Whereas Bishop Wand is C of E, so may accept a broader group of Chtistians.

I have heard good things about both, but parents are usually more keen to get their child into St. Paul's. Probably, partly due to its Outstanding Ofsted rating!

I know you didn't ask, but try to give Sunbury Manor a miss if you can. Not heard or got a good impression of that school.

Thank you, yes not heard good things re Sunbury Manor. My child has a EHCP plan so we get to chose even if not Catholic or Church of England. I have read about bullying at St Pauls though and that’s a bit of a worry. Still really undecided between the 2 schools.

I know one child who went to Bishop Wand whose Dyslexia was not well supported, but it was missed at Primary.

I know of a child who is at St Paul’s with physical health issues whose parents have been happy and another whose child was given very good provision for other issues there.

I am also aware of a child that left St Paul’s in year 9 due to bullying that wasn’t dealt with.

Are you set on Sunbury? Someone else I know went to Waldegrave due to health issues.
