Y11 finish dates - have I messed up ??

We go on holiday Fri 10th June.
My Y11 starts exams Mon 16th May. I presumed they would be done and finished school on Fri 27th May as my Y11 was last year, although I realise last year was different due to no exams. I have emailed school but they have returned just today from school holiday.

Yup. The exams themselves are not later than usual. They are when they normally happen. Last year's year 11 finished early to enable the assessment processes and moderation to occur in schools. The contingency time has been in at the end for a while for a variety of reasons.

DDs start on 16th May and she has to go on to 29th June as contingency day which you are all supposed to keep free. Following week there is Leavers Day and their Prom on 8th July, both optional but if your child wants to go best check with school re dates on those. Would definitely not book anything before 30th June.

Physics is 23 June and I think there’s music around then too. 10 June is slap bang in the middle

Thanks for the contingency day explanation, had wondered what that was for as don't remember having it.

I have 28th June as last exam. Ours have to be around until Mid July though. First week July work experience, then leavers assembly and prom followed by a week of prep for sixth form / college. I think they aren’t free until 11th.
