Hi all, my DS is at College, year 1 A levels . He is undecided about his next steps after college but I am hearing that regardless of his final decision, we should be visiting Unis soon to help him to decide . I am new to all this so looking for advice on the best way to approach it, e.g. when should we start the visiting?

Join the Facebook group WIWIKAU and they also have a website and read the threads in the Higher Education section of MN.

Yes best time to start visiting is around now or this academic year in year 12 or first year of A levels. This takes the pressure off in year 13 (especially if Uni’s are not all local etc).

The Facebook site is quite a good resource as is the Higher Education threads on MN.

Most will have official open days at the end of the summer term and then the beginning of the autumn term.

With covid, when open days didn't happen there are lots of virtual open days available on uni websites.

Have a look at the UCAS website and perhaps narrow down some locations and subjects as a start.
