Putney High and NHEHS waiting lists

We got an offer from Francis and Holland (Regent's Park) and my ds is in WL for both Putney high and nhehs.
Any ideas about Putney and nhehs WL over the last few years ?

Also, any thoughts abut Francis and holland vs nhehs vs Putney high?

We have offers from FHS and NHEHS and don’t know anyone else who is trying to decide between two such different schools! In our case, FHS is walking distance; @OuiMum, I’m guessing you live West? For us, NHEHS is a journey, so has to be worth it. Any secondary with a junior school attached is always going to have a more local feel, and I get the sense that is especially the case with NHEHS. So hard for us to make that leap without knowing anyone with daughters already there. I do know lots of happy girls at FHS, if that helps.

@Nellyalice we are in same boat. Offers from FHRP (quite close to us) and NHEHS. So hard to know as both schools seem to have very happy students but we love the facilities at NHEHS…but concerned about commute. @OuiMum are you happy with FHRP? We’ve only heard excellent reviews from current students but when our DD went on tour at NHEHS the girls were kind of negative about some teachers. To me, they were showing off to each other but notably all of the girls at FHRP have only enthused about the teachers. New head seems lovely too. We will decide by middle of next week for sure.

@Nellyalice thanks for your feedback.
What do you mean by "such different schools"?

We live in west London closer to NHEHS than FHRP and definitely far from Putney high.
My daughter first choice was Putney high then nhehs/FHRP as second choice.
We had a discussion with our daughter and she is now convinced that long commutes are not practical.
As parents, our first choice was always nhehs and fhrp mainly based on distance.
We love both schools and for now we only have one offer which is from fhrp but I wanted to hear from others what they think/know about both schools in case we get an offer from nhehs before the acceptance deadline.
Thanks a lot!

@AmericanLondon Yes we are happy with FH!
I think the mix of Academic and gentle approach would fit perfectly my daughter.
We don't know a lot about nhehs as we didn't attend the open days.
The main difference that I know is that they have a bigger campus and many of the kids will come from the junior school unlike fhrp where everyone come from different schools.
Academically, they look comparable and where the girls seem to be quite happy.
For us, nhehs is closer with many different transport options including the school bus (20 min door to door)

@OuiMum have you seen this thread:
"Francis Holland Regents Park: please help"
It has lots of great comments about FHRP.

OuiMum · 03/03/2022 21:13

@AmericanLondon yes I have been following that thread. It was very helpful
I am convinced FHRP would be a perfect fit for my daughter but I will call tomorrow nhehs just in case ...before accepting FH offer.

We will (sadly!) be letting our place go tomorrow so maybe wait a bit before calling, just in case you’re next on the list. I can’t help hoping we might meet at FHS!

OuiMum · 03/03/2022 21:41

@Nellyalice We would be relieved if we don't get an offer from nhehs!
FHS looks very exciting and my daughter liked it a lot.
Hopefully, we will meet up in FHS -:)

I know this is an old thread but my daughter has an offer from Francis Holland Sloane Square but waitlisted for Putney High School. Frankly my husband and I are quite happy with FHSS but my daughter is very insistent she hold out for PHS. As she’s the first from her Primary School to get offer/wl from either, school is giving us no insight.

Any chance there’s anyone here who can report back on FHSS or PHS? I’d love to hear where they excel and where they could improve.

Thanks!!
