GSCE revision

My son is bright but finds concentrating difficult. He doesn't like school and is obsessed with gaming.
I am trying to help him with GCSE revision, he agrees to this and we do a little most evenings.
Despite the fact he has agreed to this and wants to do well in his GCSEs, he is so obsessed with gaming that all he wants to do is get back to it.
He gets annoyed with me because I am trying to get him to revise, I get annoyed with him because his gaming worries and irritates me. It ends in an argument nearly every time.

What year is he in?

Do school offer any sessions? I do 50 mins after school once a week for my year 11 historians for anyone who needs help getting on with their revision

Assuming he is in Year 11 has he had his mock? If so, how did he do?

Tell the school

I think you need to set aside a few days he has no gaming. We went through my sons timetable and after school activities with him and agreed revision/gaming slots. It’s not 100% perfect but it has helped. Also really praising him when he does well. Gaming is so addictive though I think you need to cut it off.

Does he do sport? This massively helps my son who also has concentration issues.

DS did GCSE's last year and he was the same. In the end, I left him. I thought that he would pick it up on his own, he never did and winged it.

I didn't want the arguments, it was draining and putting a strain in the house.

I guess it depends on what you want, is he bright enough to do well without the revision?
