Has anyone had any experience with this school? I have literally just had to pull my son out as it's been beyond horrific. My son was literally assaulted in class, a huge target for bullies and it got to the point where my home address was circulated around the year group and children were abusing my nanny on the street.

Have you looked at Marylebone boys school. It’s undersubscribed (or it was) so you would probably get a place. I
did like it when I looked at it (admittedly several years ago) and it seems to get decent results. It would have been my second choice actually. Big downside is that there is no playground (probably why undersubscribed)! It might be too far from you though - I’m not sure.

Also, I just asked my son (at WE) and he says he hardly ever sees any fights. I think that’s true as he normally tells me any “big news” like that. Certainly he has never been involved in any.

I've been looking and hope to make it to an open day. It's quite far, but so are most so maybe that's by the by.

That's good to hear. We liked the look of William Ellis, though it's far away, so difficult to get a place

The catchment area almost doubled last year (probably as the ofsted downgrading happened just before admissions deadline) so if that stays the same, you may be ok. Also - they have music places which is always worth a shot. You don’t need to be able to play - it’s aptitude only.

I have lived nearby for years and watched how the kids behave in the street, including in groups with their teachers. They seem badly behaved, rude and keep jumping over the barriers at Tufnell Park Station and showing people around.
I'm sure the headteacher is great, but you can only do so much when the intake is so mixed!

I think most kids will seem a bit unruly en masse at home time!

That said, I know someone who said she moved out of the area once she started a family...in order to get away from the Burghley kids and ensure it wasn't her local school 😖
