Thanks Sram! Yes very nervous. We didn't make it to City of London and it was disappointing to say the least :(
Although we prepared only for a month for these exams but the hope starts when its results time 🙃

@Sram03 best of luck to your DC for the rest / 11+ next year!

@Sabi100 thanks :)

NoMoreFries · 22/01/2022 18:52

@Meimng congrats to both your daughters and you! What amazing news. I'd be so thrilled in the same position.

Can I ask did you do a fair bit of tutoring? I'm guessing for 11+ yes - but for 10+ too?

Our DC didn't get an interview at 10+ which was a shame - but I'd like to be more prepared for next year so any tips or advice would be gratefully received.

Meimng · 23/01/2022 07:22

@NoMoreFries thanks. We are currently overseas and my DDs' school follow IB curriculum. So we have a tutor one hour per week to help them understand a bit of British curriculum and VR / NVR which were aliens to them. We applied to a few schools in the area and honestly I didn't know what to expect. So far they have some offers and some interviews, all these are surprises for us!

Just thought I would hope on this thread, re preparation. I just finished 11+ for Indi Schools and now waiting for the offer day. You need to prepare and prepare well. If.you don't have time to do it yourself and indepth as a parent, get a tutor!

My Ds had a tutor and I also worked with him. The competition is crazy for the small number of spaces at the selective schools.

Also be realistic. Go for a range of schools, not just the same type.of school in the same tier, as there are children that get 'No' across the board and are left without a school.

Best of luck.
