11+ Group Interview - HELP

stooshmum · 08/01/2022 09:29

Morning All, my daughter has a group interview next week for Year 7 entry, but her school has not been very helpful with preparation.

Please can anyone shed some light as to what she might expect? What type of questions?

Many thanks x

It’s a conversation where they ask random questions and each child answers in turn

There isn’t really any preparation you can do, but good if they feel relaxed enough to just answer

It’s probably best not to get exact questions as will be different but also all dc should go in with same level of info

Can you find a local tutor who could give her a practice at answering questions?

I know nothing about this.

However to add t the above I'd be thinking she might need to listen to others' answers to the same question and show/reflect this in her answers? Depends on the type of questions I suppose, and might be a bit too much to expect of a 10year old?

Is it online or in person? Have they called it an interview or something else? Which school?

Often when they are in groups in person, they want to see that they get on well with others. They can listen to other opinions, reflect on them, put their own opinions across. They look at team working.

My daughter participated in one recently and they had to work in teams. I think they were asked to find new uses to some object (like an egg cup). They had to discuss with their partner and they report their decisions.
They were also asked to say a few words about themselves.
