Does anyone have recent experience of Bewstead wood school please? I have seen old posts regarding how bad the pastoral care was and how they seem to only care about academic results.

I am actually not bothered about my daughter doing the 11plus but she is so keen to try! She's She's very hard working although bright, sometimes doesn't grasps things very quicker but would work really hard to try! So I would be worried about her being in a hogh pressured, highly competitive environment.

Heard there's been a few head changes so does anyone know what the current head is like and how they deal with bullying etc too?

My daughter is in y11. There have only been 2 heads in that time.

She likes her teachers and feel they care about her (and not just her results).

It is very hard for us to comment on whether a grammar school would be a good fit for your child: you know her best.

Obviously, grammar schools are academically competitive. If you don’t think that is a great fit for your daughter, you know best. There are lots of other lovely schools to apply to.

Good luck with your choice.
