Sutton Catchment requirement

We are currently in the CR0 postcode while is not in the catchment of Sutton Grammar or Wilsons School. We can move to a catchment postcode as DS will be appearing for the entrance of these, but not sure when should we move.

Is the catchment checked and required to be fulfilled while filling up the SET form in May/June OR we would have time till the CAF is submitted in October.

Thanks!

Sutton Grammar's admissions policy says you have to use the boy's permanent address on the date of registration, updating the School Registrar as necessary. It then refers to where the boy is living on 31st Oct.

So presumably if you move after registering and before 31st Oct and inform the school, they will use your new address.

There is no catchment criteria for Wilson's.

What would your back up school be? Both of those schools will be very oversubscribed so depends on how highly you think he will score in the exam as to likelihood of getting in catchment or non catchment.

Sutton does have non catchment places. I think Wilson's noir ought only comes into it where their is a tie on scores at the cutoff point.

Being in the catchment area does not of course guarantee a place, you have to pass 2 exams for that. It is possible ( but harder) to get in to SGS if you are non catchment.
