Anyone heard from Claremont Fan Court?

Hello,

I was hoping to hear from CFC today, as I know that last year they sent out interview invitations on January 4th.

The pessimist in me thinks maybe they only sent out emails today to those successful.

Would you please let the know if you’ve had any news?

No news here yet, to be honest I wasn't expecting anything until next week at the earliest. We know of 2 others who also sat for Claremont, and they haven't heard either.

I couldn’t help myself and called this morning.

They said we’ll hear Friday at the earliest.

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Claremont Fan court after the 11+ in Dec?
A few friends were emailed for interviews but we’ve not heard yet. Starting to worry

Last year they only emailed the ones that were successful. The rest (including us) got a rejection letter in the post...a few days later. Hope I'm wrong for this year though !

@Nameabc, that’s too bad, we haven’t heard anything either.

My daughter will be distraught, she’s actually very academic and was convinced she got 100% in Maths, she found it very easy.

It’s going to make the wait to hear from the other schools in February very hard to cope with.

It is difficult my daughter will be really upset too. We loved the school and she found the paper very straightforward.
I think a lot of children were applying this year. But still hard to take the rejection.

In the past (2018) they didn't interview scholarship candidates and went straight to offers a couple of days later. It caused lots of upset over a weekend but my dc was at a prep school and the prep school told my dc he had a scholarship offer and no interview when they went in on the Monday as the prep had been advised by CFC.
It may well have changed but if you are at a prep ask for help on Monday.

We’re genuinely confused. My daughter is usually quite spot on after a test and she thinks she did well across the board.

But who knows…?

No emails here either. DS also said he found the exam easier than the other that he sat, but as you say, who knows.

We got an invitation to interview around lunchtime yesterday but none of DSs friends who applied have heard back yet.
The waiting is the killer!

Has anyone received a rejection letter or email from CFC? We have heard nothing so I am assuming we have even unsuccessful but the drawn out process of not knowing is driving me crazy. It feels a little cruel if they are leaving the rejections until last. My son is asking every day and all his friends have had interviews. 😩

I spoke to someone who was at the school on Monday and the Admissions Team said they were still processing and still interviewing. Still hope

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately we received our rejection yesterday after I called to ask. Gutted but have to move on. Hoping he just had a bad day!

Sorry to hear that KateT73… we’re still waiting to hear back. We’ve not received any emails at all.
I did call earlier in the week and was informed they were incredibly busy still going through applications.
It is quite stressful especially for us all.

We did too!

Waiting for another one but will leaning heavily on CFC.

I wonder if they’ll invite them back for an open/taster day.

I believe last year there were 60 spaces available because 60 kids stayed from the prep.

I have no idea how many places are offered though, I would guess over 100?

Without getting into detail I can tell you that both my daughter and us are absolutely delighted with they school, as is everyone I’ve met (it’s a very social school for parents)

Yes, that was in the offer letter.

we took it up early because we were certain that’s the one we wanted, but I know of others that accepted it way past the offer date from other schools and they still got in.
