We are looking to love house. We live in BS3 and love it but the houses are pretty small and the gardens generally postage stamps. We've looked all over Bristol and have concluded Long Ashton could be q good shout, in terms of North Street proximity but also getting a bigger home, with a decent garden, garage etc...
Secondary school is a factor in our decision. And we've just found out Long Ashton is technically in the St Katherine's catchment, which is a requires improvement school. Obviously things can change - and our sons are a little way off going to secondary school - but it feels like a gamble.
What are the chances of getting into Ashton Park? Does anyone know? Are there other secondary schools locally? We aren't interested in applying to Cathedral, as I've heard it's coasting on an old ofsted rating that hasn't been updated in years and will probably get downgraded (this is from a couple of teacher friends who work there). So are there other options? I'm not keen on moving to Redland Green catchment as I don't really like Redland, but that's our other option.
Any thoughts/advice/local knowledge appreciated
