Has anyone got experience of Tassomai for GCSEs?

DD is year 10. Like many dc, she didn’t have the best year 9 and is now having to work extremely hard to bring herself up to where she wants to be in year 10. I was wondering about getting her Tassomai for sciences. She does currently use Seneca for revising along with YouTube and past papers etc. Would Tassomai be worth it?

we used it for a 1-week trial and decided at the end it was not worth it. Just glorified flash-cards / MCQs with a very hefty price tag. there might be some value in drilling struggling students in the 3 months before the exams but I certainly wouldn't be paying for it in year 10.

mygcsescience is better and cheaper:

www.my-gcsescience.com/

so also is

www.century.tech/

bbc bitesize is also free and good.

Thanks that’s really helpful. I’ll have a look at century and mygcsescience but probably give Tassomai a miss.

Tassomai is no better than Seneca.

Download all the past papers from the exam board website and get her to keep practicing until she’s perfect

My daughter is in yr 10 and she was just given a whole pile of gcse revision guides by our next door neighbours whose son finished his this year. She used one to help her revise for her chemistry end of topic test last week and came out bouncing as everything she revised came up. Got the results today and she got the top mark in her top set class and came away with a grade 9. She is now in love with her revision guides and asked me to buy a couple more (the boy next door unhelpfully did history instead of geography !!

It's very expensive because you can't just pick one or all science subjects now - you get access to the subjects they do and that's reflected in the price.

I got it before Y10 started for DS - as he gets on with but while he does the science and maths - it's more the English that's proven useful.

Very few resoruces for the board and English department rush though Eng Lit in Y10 - and he's like DD1 not keen on sitting down with the workbooks and us.

He uses seneca as well - you can pay for upgrade to the really short courses but not sure it's worth it.

They've also gone with a tree system which seem to hide how much of the course if left and makes it hard to drill down to find problem areas - foudn the grid DD1 had access to much more useful and easier to access.

DS does it with minimal fuss but hadn't really expected to pay for so many months - but tried to stop couple of times and he asked to keep it every time so far.
