Spanish penfriend modern equivalent?

My DS is in year 7 and learning Spanish. I don't know Spanish having done German and French myself and finding it a bit of an uphill battle without any real opportunity to use the language.

I was wondering if all the technology available now whether anyone knows of any meet a foreign child for language practice opportunities where both kids get to practice their foreign language (so Spanish child would get to practice English and vice versa)? Kinda like a penfriend idea but a bit more real-time than snail mail ever was?

That is, I can't help ds as have no Spanish knowledge to speak of... and I found language learning an uphill battle without the chance to use it and would like to help him have a better experience.

Would something like this site work for you?

My daughter has weekly conversation zoom call with a Spanish pupil of similar English ability - they are given conversation topics etc. It’s called Spellian and organised by the (state) school. We may have had to pay, not sure but it’s going well.
