I'm interested in opinions of these, especially regarding St. Mary Magdalene and Highbury Fields. Any personal experience or knowledge otherwise?

We went on a morning tour of St Mary Magdalene a few weeks ago. There was lots to like about it - a well-designed building which feels bright, modern and spacious (and easy to navigate). Lessons were happening at the time of the tour - all doors were open onto the corridor for Covid ventilation so we could look in at various classes as we passed. The students seemed focused and engaged with their learning. When the bell went they moved sensibly to their next lessons. It gave the impression of being an orderly and well-run school, without a sense of oppressive strictness. The library was not huge but seemed very popular and well-used.

Obviously, being where they are, they don’t have lots of outside space. There’s a small playground at ground level and we saw an indoor sports hall where basketball was being played. We also had the opportunity to look in on a hockey lesson on the rooftop (Y7 or Y8 at a guess) where they have a MUGA.

It’s well-liked locally. So is Highbury Fields so far as I know, but we have a boy so haven’t visited there.
