Does anyone have any experience of this please?

We stumbled across it when we were looking at 6th form options for DD and it certainly looks of interest and it looks like they give out quite a number of scholarships.

It looks amazing on the website but almost too good to be true??? Based on what I've seen so far DD probably has the intellect and personality to fit in but it would really like to know more ?

Thanks

Is this Llantwit Major? If yes, my stepsister went there and it was brilliant for her: she's now a hugely successful person with lifelong friends around the world.

It is an amazing place, I know several people there who are now hugely successful.

St Donats, which is the actual location, is a good half hour - 40mins from Cardiff.

I know quite a bit about it, and about the other United World Colleges. They are amazing. I'd have loved my dd to go there for sixth form but she didn't want to board and I didn't want her to live away from home either.

It's meant to be Amazing
Went to uni with a great guy From there
One of my dads cousins taught there before retirement - he was incredibly clever

I had a family friend whose kids went there and I was encouraged to look at it but couldn't go through with applying as didn't want to board. Looks amazing though.

Isnt that the one the european royals go to?

Amazing venue, we go there for open days with our (younger) kids and explore/have a picnic.

I would love my kids to have the opportunity to go there - in my view a great network is so so helpful in future life. Doubt we will afford it or qualify for enough of a bursary though!

Superb reputation. Some of my friends went there abut 20 years ago and loved it.

It’s undergone a lot of upheaval in recent years, with a high turnover of senior leadership; a new head has started this semester, much to the relief of the staff and students.
