Hi All,

We are new to London and are renting a property soon at New Malden. My daughter is 10 years old and would need to apply for secondary schools by end of the month. Which secondary schools are considered best in and around New Malden? Please let me know. Thanks in Advance.

Other than the grammars, Coombe Girls is considered very good.

@Indarv if you are interested in grammar- there is Tiffins ( Kingston ) , Nonsuch in Sutton (213) and Wallington a bit further away.

State schools Coombe Girls ( New Malden) and Tolworth Girls and both are always oversubscribed. For memory Coombe will base their decision on where you live from the school. Holy Cross ( all girls) is in New Malden and you will need to look at their admission policy .

To my knowledge the only mix one is Raynes Park in New Malden.

So one of the decisions will be whether to you want single sex or mix. I believe all the open evenings are now...good luck

You have missed missed chance to apply for a grammar I think as most of their tests already done. Holy Cross is a Catholic school but well thought of. I think you would need to check distance criteria for coombe girls and tolworth as I believe they are quite competitive. The Kingston.gov website will have all the admissions criteria and the history of distance places offered to in recent years. You probably need to look at Holy Cross own website for how they offered places. You might have missed a lot of open evenings but plenty of schools put something of a presentation on their website. HC cancelled their in person open evening due to COVID cases so I imagine something on website.

Thank you all for the swift response. I'd definitely look into the school's and Kingston council website for more information.
