ISEB pretest format

My DD is sitting the ISEB pretest this year, we have been doing bit of work and using Atom to help familiarise her with the format. I have just looked at the “sample” questions on the ISEB website and there are some considerable differences. For example Atom will say “where should the punctuation go in this sentence” and then give 5 options that are written out with the punctuation included. The ISEB version you need to highlight where you think it goes in the sentence itself with no options given. Do you know if they have updated the ISEB and it looks more like Atom or if it is as per the website?

Also DD gets extra time, I heard ISEB have updated their system now and you do get a timer at the top of the page but on the website it says that she won’t have one. Anyone know the truth?

They are quite small things but I would like to let her know either way so that she can be as prepared as possible. Thanks

Yes I agree, the familiarisation test looks bit different than Atom on how the questions have been given.

How is Planet BOFA different from Atom for ISEB Pretest?

We have used both Planet BOFA is much cheaper but DD didn’t enjoy using it and on the basic package the prep wasn’t really adaptive. You have to pay extra for the ISEB mock exams and we didn’t do that as DD had already disengaged. Atom is run by the same exam body that set the pre-test so the questions are very similar and the format is supposed to be the same BUT as per the question above there are considerable differences.

BOFA is now adaptive and really cheap compared to Atom. The pretests are to be bought separately though.
