Hi - I am looking at enrolling my daughter in year 10, entry this year 2021, at Ipswich High School. The new boarding facilities look amazing and the school is in a stunning setting on outskirts of Ipswich. Does anybody have any children at the school or can give any recommendations? My daughter loves sport, particularly tennis, and is keen to be at a school where the students really enjoy their sports and are very friendly - she suffered at her previous school with some of the friendship groups / cliques. Thank you.

I don't know the school very well, but know a couple of girls who have been there and done well. It did suffer a bit from low numbers in the recent past, but I think that has improved since the change in ownership and going co-ed. I don't know how sporty it is, but I don't think it's renowned for it. If you're looking for boarding and sport, have you thought about the Royal Hospital School in nearby Holbrook? I'd highly recommend it - about half the school are boarders so a good boarding community, and lots of sport on offer.

@Fiona1965 , I second @usedtobeboss3 recommendation, Royal Hospital School is worth a look if you're considering Ipswich. My DC has made some great friends, enjoys their subjects and thinks the teachers are excellent. The school doesn't offer rowing, so you may want to look elsewhere if that is important to your DD.
