Does anyone have current or recent experience of this school?
Academically, it is very good, apparently the best comprehensive school in the city, but I want DD to be happy as well as having a high standard of teaching. Single-sex, highly academic schools have a reputation for being pushy and/ or full of very stressed and anxious girls and/ or hotbeds of bullying and bitchiness (I went to one), and I don’t know how to find out if it is like that or how good the pastoral care is. The ofsted report says the girls are all happy, enjoy coming to school and there is no bullying, but how true is that? There isn’t an open evening to go and get a feel for it
