Has anyone had experience with the SEN department at Grey Coat Hospital? My daughter has ADHD and will definitely need support in secondary school.

Bumping as I am interested too, especially as they aren’t having an open evening this year.

If it helps I have a daughter in the senior school and she's really happy. But my other daughter has mild SEN needs and I need to know she'll be supported.

Thanks @Stuffragette, it looks a fantastic school but like you we have mild additional needs, and disappointed we can’t take a look around.

@Martinisarebetterdirty I'm going to try and send you a pm as have heard back from grey coats Sen

On a related note, if you're applying for this school on a language place, do you just fill in the general online application form and turn up on the day of the test? There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to register for the test specifically and there's lots of shouty stuff warning you off contacting the school

Stuffragette · 20/09/2021 14:27

@longestlurkerever tbh I'm not sure. But don't be scared to email the school. They expect it because of the no visits.

If I remember for my eldest dd we just turned up. They give them a paper in a random language, we had Finnish. Then they have to answer questions. Do you know the school email?

I'm sure I can find it, many thanks. Yikes that sounds hard. Bit of a long shot but will be a day out at least! Grin

@Stuffragette @Martinisarebetterdirty I hope you don’t mind me contacting you but I wonder if your dds are attending GC and how you have found SEN support. My dd has dyslexia and I don’t know if she would be supported. She doesn’t have an EHCP. Thank you!

We’re not due to go until next year and put St Marylebone above it. To be honest the open evening for GCH was chaotic, I was really disappointed. I’ll look again for my youngest but wasn’t comfortable at all with what I was able to see in the very limited time we had (we didn’t see any of the traditional academic subjects because the girls showing around had specific orders each could go around in and we simply didn’t see enough to be confident in the school). Sorry this isn’t more helpful.

@Martinisarebetterdirty oh that’s interesting, thank you. I had a look around for my older daughter about 4 years ago and really liked it, but didn’t have any interest in SEN provision then!
