What can British parents do to help their children compete in the world?

I've just read that Italian students are the worst for science in Europe. So it seems that every country is worried about its teenagers.

TBH, I was more surprised that the French are ranked significantly below the UK. I have always heard about the problems with the British system, but thought the French system was really good. Guess not.

Franca - globalisation.

I was very surprised that the French were only one place ahead of the British for maths. The French place enormous store by maths - it's long been the cornerstone of their education system.

at least we're still in the top 25. Didn't notice the USA there at all.
