Channing or South Hampstead 7+

Evening all, it's coming up to that time where I need to apply for a school for my dd. I'm looking at Channing and South Hampstead but am quite conflicted. I prefer Channing's grounds however it is further away from us and travelling through Hampstead every day would be a nightmare. I'm also worried that once she turns 11, she'll be travelling to school on her own and Channing is a 50 min journey away whereas SHHS is about 15. She is fairly academic and enjoys arts more than sport. Any suggestions as to which would be better suited? Should we just suck-up to the commute or would SHHS work out to be better?

My understanding (based on 20 years ago) is SHHS is more academic.

Channing girls didn't have the best rep.

Don't know about what things are like now though. Hopefully someone else will be along to help advise.

Don’t have the best rep??? Not sure what that means…

Both schools get excellent results. Channing is great for arts but if SHHS is much closer for you than it might be a better choice purely based on distance.
