Placing request application

Hi all,

I am currently filling in an online placement request for my DD.

The form is very basic but asks for any further info, and states it may be helpful to share why we are submitting the placement request.

Our reasons are that it’s a far better school than the catchment school and because of peers but I can’t write that!

Any tips? I don’t want to write a lot.

The school will get multiple requests from parents in our village - and our success will be dependent on catchment size for the year.

Sorry I should add - it is for secondary school. We are in Scotland - she is currently in primary 7 and will go into secondary school next year.

Annoyingly I grew up in the catchment area, went to the school we want her to go to, and only moved out of it when she was 2, not giving any thought to secondary school!!

We only moved to the next village but it’s outwith the local authority.

No idea how this works but you could perhaps say:

Otherwise something like 'We feel that the ethos and policies of the school will suit our daughter better than the catchment one'??

I did wonder about telling them I went to the school. My whole family did!
