My DD (Yr 7) has been asked to label the parts of a scroll saw for homework,by looking it up on the internet. She's
tried for at least 30 mins, googling all relevant terms , bbc ks 3 DT revision sites, homework help sites, design and technology sites, google images for scroll saw diagram etc, all to no avail. I've tried, without luck.
Suggestions very gratefully received!!!

Can't find you a labelled pic but all she needs to know is that a scroll saw is a powered version of hand tools like a coping saw. The important things to label are the cutting table, the blade (always held in tension by the design of the saw arm) and the throat of the machine. This is the distance between the blad and the back of the machine arm that holds the blade. It dictates how big a bit of material you can cut on the saw. If you Google scroll saws you'll see pictures of them for sale. They give blage and throat sizes as a matter of course.

Hope this helps.

I was a DT teacher by the way (before children).
