10 days to go until results day. Thought I'd start a new thread for parents who are getting the heebie jeebies and are probably more stressed than their DCs. I personally am trying not to mention it AT ALL, so it would be really good to have a thread where I can worry along with everyone else!

@Izzybizzy5 Well done to your genius DS! Grin

There's no point to worrying about a thing until it has happened. The best thing to to is to forget about it. Then when the envelope arrives you can have a moment of doubtful anticipation only. Expect and be prepared to accept the worst, then all news becomes good news.

Well done to everyone. I am so proud of my son who is blind and has been through alot especially last year with Covid19 and lockdown. He has achieved 6x9 and 3x8.! He keeps saying out loud "I'm a genius ".
Your son is incredible and is definitely a genius!! You should be enormously proud! 💥x

Had not really looked at analysis of GCSE results before but if you look beyond the headlines of State vs Private, grammar schools outperformed Private in grades 7,8,9 - 68.4 % compared to 61.2%, although percentage increase was greater in private (4.1%). Not all private schools are academically selective so maybe that accounts for it???

Yes - exactly that. ALL grammar's are selective. Not all private schools are.

Has anyone had a breakdown of all of the assessment grades for each subject given to them by their school? My daughter was emailed a document with all of her assessment scores. As a result we've appealed my DDs Statistics grade. She has been given a U for one of the assessments - but she was in the exam and felt it went really well - she got a 6 as her overall grade. It's like someone caught the U that's directly below the 7/8 on the keyboard when entering the figures. It's a weird situation when all her friends got number grades - we think it a might be a clerical error.

@imacuddler, just to let you know my daughter is now doing level 3 health and social care. Evidently my irate phone call pointing out that she had already done level 2 had the necessary impact. She is retaking maths gcse.
