Northbridge House Canonbury

We're looking at secondary school options for DS. We live in a less-than-salubrious pocket of north London, and not happy with the state school options. One option is Northbridge House Canonbury. Wondering if anyone knows whether it's mainly extremely wealthy Highbury kids who attend, or is there a mix with some children coming from less posh areas of London? Don't want DS to constantly feel he's the poor relative if we send him there.

Have you looked around the school? I have DC at the Prep school and went to see both NBH Hampstead and Canonbury. Almost all the kids who stay at NBH go to Hampstead but I vastly preferred Canonbury. It's very small but felt like a kind of intimate New York college. A Levels were being taught 1 to 3 max and 1 to 1 in some cases.

I certainly didn't get an air of extreme privilege and in my experience most kids really couldn't care less how big your house is or where it is. Sure there are a few very wealthy families at the Prep but (whilst it's all relative) probably a lot more who have one child and have made sacrifices to send them to the school. I can assure you no one is judged (and the super pushy super wealthy set are almost certainly sending their kids to other schools)
