We live in the Greater London area. My son is 10 and loves science and maths. Would love to hear recommendations for private schools that are excellent in science subjects, please.

Whereabouts in London? All the selective private schools will have great science departments but so will lots of state schools as well.

As pp says, all the selective private schools are great at science but just remember some children do change. At 10 my ds was a total science geek, went to lectures at the RI, watched every science programme he could, wanted to be an astrophysicist. Fast forward to now and he's about to go to university to do Modern Languages.

Don't obsess about one direction when he might naturally find he has other interests too as he gets older and discovers more subjects.

Greater London is a huge area :)

Is he in year 5 or year 6 at the moment? And what age would you want him to start at secondary (year 7 or year 9?). Do you have a budget in mind?

I am assuming you are looking for a day school, but if so you might want to narrow your search a little unless you would be willing to move. It is a big area and the commute to some schools would be very long.

Let us know roughly which area in Greater London brcause there is no point suugesting a school in SW London of you live in the far reaches of NE London for example.
