Wooburn Green / High Wycombe Schools

Hi,

I am considering moving to Wooburn Green and am finding it hard to get a clear picture of secondary school catchment areas.

Our eldest is only 3, and will be keeping his primary school place where we currently live.

However, can anyone shed any light on whether or not Wooburn Green would fall into the catchment area of good state secondary schools in and around the area?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

It’s catchment for Bourne End Acadamy. That’s the secondary modern but The Beaconsfield School and Great Marlow School are not far away. However whether you would get a place at GM or TBS is for you to look up on the Bucks CC web site. They detail the criteria and distance for all schools admissions in previous years so you can judge if your dc would get a place. GM is the better school of these three.

You also have the grammar schools. I would look at admission data for these too. For boys you might get the two boys grammars in High Wycombe. The Royal Grammar or John Hampden Grammar. You would need to dc to take the county wide 11 plus in the September of y6. Bucks Schools enter dc so I would educate him in Bucks, personally.

All of this is a long way off and obviously things can change. Bucks cc web site gives you all the catchment areas and details. William Borlase’s Grammar is in Marlow but has a notoriously tight catchment area but check it.
