DD's school is offering CCF either navy or army. DD is considering joining the navy. Does anybody know have any experience of this. Have your children done it? enjoyed it? what did it involve? She is not too much into marching and parades, but would like some of the other aspects.

I don't know how true this is, but at DS's school, Navy is seen as one of the 'easier' options for CCF. Marines and Army are seen to be much tougher, needing higher fitness levels etc. CCF is a big deal though at his school, compulsory in Y9 and 10 and very popular even when voluntary in Y11-13.

Thank you. It sounds like CCF Navy will suit my daughter better.

DS liked cadets for almost 2 years. Kids who can enjoy it usually know so.
