Hi all,
My sister has two kids and the oldest will be going to secondary school next year. I just wanted your opinions on Archer Academy.
She is thinking of moving to East Finchley very soon and obviously this is a school close by. I read it recieved an outstanding Ofsted Report and the exam results are probably the best in Barnet out of all the mixed non selective schools which is fantastic. How are your kids finding the school?
I must say, funny enough I went to the Archer Academy open evening about 2 years ago with a close friend who wanted to see the school for her children and I didn't think the headteacher came across well at all compared to the headteachers of Alexandra Park School and The Compton School (Finchley) which we also visted. I am sure she is lovely and she is clearley doing an amazing job as headteacher but I found her to be a bit robotic. She hardly made eye contact at all with any parents, just read from the slides on the screen and appeared a bit odd with her mannerisms. The APS headteacher was very authentic and seemed genuine likewise the Compton headteacher. Maybe I have just got it wrong, and The Archer headteacher was having a bad day or something.
Also is the school diverse since it is in an affluent area.
Thanks all!
